Sela launched its 8th training of "The Art of Fashion Design and Sewing" in Khoyout Factory with generous funding from the International Islamic Charity Organization- IICO, and in the presence of Mr. Muhammad Musa Ramadan, Head of Development Programmes and Projects at IICO, via Zoom.

The opening featured a speech by Sela's Executive Director, Mrs. Amal Hassan, who welcomed Mr. Ramadan and thanked him for his presence and interest in launching the training.

She expressed her gratitude toward IICO and its director for funding several projects executed by Sela and for supporting & empowering women. She also shed light on the importance of the training and the theoretical and practical skills trainees will gain from participating.

Mr. Ramadan then addressed the importance of training workshops that influence community development and women's empowerment, as the main objective of these workshops is to shift the family from destitution to self-sufficiency.

Afterward, he thanked the trainer of the sewing training for her tremendous efforts in delivering information and Sela for successfully leading projects funded by IICO. He also stressed the importance of showing commitment by trainers and trainees as they compete professionally and honorably after passing among several applicants.

In the end, the trainees presented short speeches with Mr. Muhammad Ramadan as they thanked him and IICO for offering the training while wishing them to live up to such responsibility.

Some trainees voiced the goals they hope to achieve from enrolling in this training, such as acquiring an independent profession that helps support their families, especially amid difficult living conditions.
