Khoyout's Trainees' Graduation 2022
They Paved the Path after Learning a Skill
Aspiring women will build a bright future for themselves and society to advance in civilization when skill requirements are provided.
On World Youth Skills Day, Sela organized a graduation ceremony for Khoyout Factory Trainees of Fashion Design and Sewing's first training in 2022. Thanks to Sheikh Abdullah al-Nouri Charity Society's generous donations, the Ministry of Social affairs' sponsorship, and the representative of MP Bahia Hariri, some directors, members of schools, associations, organizations, and the trainees' families.
The ceremony started by paying respects to the Lebanese and Kuwaiti national anthems, followed by a speech from Ghiras (supervisor of the training) presented by Mr. Mohieldin Seif el-Din, Head of Public Relations. He emphasized the significance of such activities to support and empower women by providing occupation to build their future then he thanked Sheikh Abdullah al-Nouri Charity Society and Sela.
Despite their keenness to attend in person, circumstances did not allow it; thus, Mr. Walid al-Saif (Abu Khaled), director of the Sheikh Abdullah al-Nouri Charity Society, delivered an online speech. He reassured their constant encouragement for training to empower and train women and their pleasure to be part of the trainees' graduation who showed effort and excellence in their work and blessed them for their achievements.
Also, Mrs. Amal Hasan, Director of Sela, talked about Khoyout Factory’s training and experience that helped trainees acquire skills and feel empowered after training and receiving a sewing machine at the end of the workshop. She added that women have the right to live a dignified and safe life; thus, from the beginning, Sela has been working towards this goal and mission. At the end of her speech, she thanked Minister Dr. Hector el-Hajjar for sponsoring the event, Ghiras Association for its supervision, and Sheikh Abdullah al-Nouri Charity Society for funding the training by presenting an appreciation award.
Sela screened videos telling success stories of women who created small businesses after graduating from Khoyout and another video showing the trainees working for over six months.
Safaa Shakrah, on behalf of the trainees, also presented a speech to thank Khoyout for the things they learned and Sela, Ghiras, and Sheikh Abdullah al-Nouri Charity Society.
“Sela’s Flower Girls” delivered a play about empowering women and the role of organizations to help flourish the lives of vulnerable women, followed by the trainees’ graduation and an exhibition showing the products of Khoyout Factory at the end.
