Volunteerism influences society's advancement and inspires the youth and women to take action regarding their issues.

Based on this mindset, Sela and its volunteers participated within the Nada- Social Program framework in the Special Olympics Lebanon organized by Orphan Welfare Society-Saida. Sela's team provided psychosocial support to children through fun games and painting on their faces. Besides, Sela's volunteer Dietitian Nawal Ghazzaoui presented a segment entitled "Your Health is Your Choice" to the participants' parents. She advised on how to take care of their children's health and their own health as well. In addition, choosing healthy food that is beneficial for the body's growth reduces the risk of diseases.

Orphan Welfare Society-Saida launched the event under the patronage of His Excellency, the UAE Ambassador Dr. Hamad Al Shamsi, represented by the consul Hamdan Al-Hashemi, and with the presence of a large number of associations and social gatherings represented by their directors; and participants from different organizations and schools from all Lebanese regions.

The opening ceremony included speeches presented by the National Director of the Special Olympics Lebanon, Mrs. Hala Al-Husseini, followed by the representative of His Excellency, the UAE Ambassador, the Consul Hamdan Al-Hashemi. Then, they fired the fire torch of victory, signaling the heroes (the participants with special needs) to begin the competition.

The event was like a national celebration of special needs children. It included free medical examination targeting children (vision, hearing, dental, physiological, and general health) and various sports like basketball, tennis, badminton, volleyball, multi-distance racing, cycling.

In the end, the winners received medals and Sela distributed toys to all the players.
