Sela held a graduation ceremony for the trainees of Sewing and Fashion Designing Course- 2020 on Thursday at Sar Badda Wedding Venue in Saida, under the patronage of the Ministry of Social Affairs in Lebanon and the presence of the representative of the Director-General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, (Judge Abdullah Ahmad) Mrs. Hiyam Abdelnabi, Head of the Department of Social Affairs in the South, and some local organizations, the families of trainees.

First, the Lebanese national anthem was played; then, Mrs. Amal Hassan, Director of Sela, presented her speech. She explained that the pandemic and the impact of the economic crisis on mental health affect vulnerable women. Thus Sela will continue its work through these tough times to empower and support women and their families. She also congratulated the female trainees on completing the course. She closed her speech by expressing gratitude towards the Al-Mohsenat organization from Jordan for funding the training and providing modern sewing machines for the trainees.

Mrs. Asmaa Al-Shalabi, Production Manager of Khoyout Factory, also presented a speech on behalf of Khoyout Factory to congratulate the trainees. She briefed the attendees on the challenges that they faced bravely to produce face masks, protection suits. Mrs. Al-Shalabi wished the 23 graduate trainees success and a bright future.

Then, Sela presented a video showing the stages of the training.

Graduate Mervat Al-Sahli presented a speech on behalf of the trainees to share their journey with the attendees. She briefed the attendees on the obstacles, the anxiety they had to overcome by putting extra effort and determination to complete this course and be present in the graduation ceremony.

Sela’s Roses Group performed a play expressing the challenges Lebanese people face amid the pandemic and economic crisis.

The ceremony was closed by distrusting graduation certificates and honoring Mrs. Asmaa Al-Shalabi for her efforts. Sela presented an honor shield to Mrs. Hiyam Abdelnabi for attending the ceremony and sponsoring it. Special thanks to the Al-Mohsenat organization from Jordan for funding the training and providing modern sewing machines to the trainees.

In the end, Sela invited the attendees to see the graduates and Khoyout factory’s products for this year. Sela also gifted the attendees face masks manufactured by Khoyout Factory.
