Lebanon started facing the spread of COVID-19 in mid-march accompanied by the economic crisis, worsening the situation. The Lebanese government issued total lockdowns, and people had to stay home and close their businesses. Thus, COVID-19 and the economic crisis affected the livelihoods and pushed many families below the poverty line.

In that matter, Sela launched the By Your Side for Your Safety Campaign to provide women in the workforce and their families with mental and instrumental social support. During which Sela offered online awareness sessions about social and psychological topics, shared articles and posters (quotes) by specialists, volunteers, and family social workers. Sela also implemented relief projects targeting vulnerable women and their families, considering the precautions against COVID-19.
